My turn at sharing my shame with you all has come once again.
Also, I’ve been meaning to mention, that our POS posts are, of course, greatly inspired by The Story Siren’s IMM meme. I think it’s a meme. I’m not actually too sure what constitutes a meme, but we’re going with it here. Anywhos, yes, that’s where the inspiration came from. And also, I wanted to shame myself into reading more.
So, a couple weeks ago, as some of you might know, Chrisitne went to the ALA Conference in New Orleans. And I pretty much pressured her into getting as many books for me as she could. What she sent me looked something like this:
As you can imagine it was difficult to decide what books to start with. There were two big deciding factors in creating the pile of books that I’m going to start with. The first was the ARC of Crossed by Ally Condie isn’t all awesome and shiny like the ARC of Matched and am a little upset at it. The other was that I will be seeing, hopefully meeting, a lot of these authors in less than two weeks time at Comic Con in San Diego and I wanted to make sure I’d read their books first! So, my pile of shame for the next couple of days looks like this:
Though, at this precise moment (seriously, I’m holding it open in one hand) I’m reading Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson. Which has nothing to do with either of the factors I just like Maureen Johnson a whole heck of a lot. This pile consists of:
- Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
- Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins
- Supernaturally By Kiersten White
- Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
- Legend by Marie Lu
I just have it in my head that Marie Lu is going to be at Comic Con. I don’t remember where I got this information so it’s possible it’s very wrong. Either way, I’m super excited about my reading list. This week, it feels a little less like a Pile of Shame and more like a Pile of Must Read Now!
So, what’s in your Pile of Shame?
