So, every Sunday, I love reading/watching  the dozens of IMM posts across the YA blogosphere. I’m not sure why, but I love seeing what people got in the mail and finding new books to look out for hearing people talk about the books they are excited to read.
But I have never participated. Why? Because I dislike ordering books. I MUCH prefer buyin
g them in the store, and getting to flip through them a bit before I purchase. Also, I don’t feel I buy enough books per week to keep it interesting and different.
But then I thought to myself, “there’s a good reason you don’t buy books every week. You’re PILE OF SHAME!”
What’s a pile of shame, you ask?
Well, it’s a pile of books I own but have not yet read. So, now every Sunday when everyone else is posting their IMMs, I’m going to post my POS. And we can see how it has changed over the week….if at all.
I highly encourage everyone to participate! I think it will be a fun way to keep track of my reading patterns. So, here is my current POS:
Now, I know what you’re thinking. How can I not have read Vampire Academy yet???? Right? Well, lately vampires of any kind have been a bit of a hard stop for me, you know? I decided to give it a try because I’ve heard good things from trustworthy sources. And I got it for 30% off. From my local indie store.
And then there’s An Abundance of Katherines….I’ve had that one for years but for some reason just haven’t read it.
I bought Mercy because it was (a) on sale and (b) only had a UK price printed on it so I wasn’t sure how widespread it was published.
Need I’ve been resisting buying because I’ve heard mixed things. But, well, I got it for six dollars so I figure I can’t lose. Also, I like pixies.
Goddess Boot Camp, I’ve read the first one about a year ago, if not longer and just never got around to buying the second as they were a little hard to find. But I found it last week, so…yay!
If I Stay, I haven’t read yet because despite sounding awesome, it just didn’t sound like my type of thing. But as my local indie book store was having their annual 20% off sale, I figured I’d get. I keep hearing fantastic things about it.
The Knife of Never Letting Go, I’ve been picking this one up and looking at it in the bookstore since it was first released. I’m not sure why I never bought it before but recently wYr’s very own Kate raved and raved about it, so I figured I’d have to read it.
Specials/Extras, I’ve actually read about half of Specials and then I got distracted by other books/my house being on fire. I keep meaning to go back to it and then finish the series. I do so love finishing a series.
Wintercraft, this one I did order from BookDepository. I love not having to pay for shipping. I’d heard some really good things about this one on Goodreads and loved the North American cover enough that I decided I needed to read it right away. And that’s the one I’m currently reading.
So, what’s in your Pile of Shame?
